Day 1: Pyramids Tour, Cairo Shopping and Optional Sound and Lights Show

On the day that your pyramids and Cairo tour from Alexandria Port begins, your expert tour guide and driver will fetch you from Alexandria Port in the morning and then you will drive to Cairo in one of our clean and modern air conditioned vehicles. On arrival in Cairo, you will first make your way to the ancient Saqqara necropolis to visit the Step Pyramid of Pharaoh Djozer. The Step Pyramid was the very first pyramid ever built by the ancient Egyptians and is believed to be the oldest major stone structure in the world. The pyramid was built during the 3rd Dynasty for Pharaoh Djoser. After a 14-year restoration project, visitors can today once again enter this breathtaking archaeological site, and also the Teti Pyramid which is also located at the Saqqara necropolis.

Next, you will be taken to a good quality local restaurant to enjoy a delicious lunch meal, a great opportunity to enjoy some authentic Egyptian food. After lunch, you will then make your way to the Giza Pyramids complex, one of the world’s most famous historical sites. Here you will visit the pyramids of Pharaoh Khafre, Pharaoh Khufu, Pharaoh Menkaura and the Sphinx, an iconic archaeological monument that has the head of a pharaoh and the body of a lion. You will also visit the Valley Temple during your visit to this site and you will have the opportunity to enjoy a short camel ride. However, a camel ride is optional and is therefore not included in the price of our Pyramids and Cairo tour from Alexandria port.

Following your visit to the Giza Pyramid complex, you will then have the opportunity to do some shopping at places such as Cairo’s centuries-old Khan el Khalili Bazaar, a traditional market, and one of Cairo’s most popular tourist attractions. Finally, you will be driven to the 5-Star hotel where you will be spending the night.
In the evening you will also have the option of attending a spectacular Sound and Lights show at the Giza Pyramids. Alternatively, you could enjoy a truly delightful Nile River dinner cruise or even a short Felucca ride on the Nile. These are optional activities and are therefore not included in the price of our Pyramids and Cairo Tours from Alexandria Port.

Day 2: The Egyptian Museum and the Cairo Citadel

Enjoy a delicious breakfast at your hotel and then at the time which will have been confirmed with you, you will check-out from your hotel and your English speaking guide will meet you at the hotel and then you will make your way to the famous Egyptian Museum. This incredible museum is home to more than 250,000 Egyptian artifacts that showcase the ancient history of Egypt, spanning a period of roughly 5,000 years.

Following your visit to the Egyptian Museum, you will then head to a good local restaurant for an excellent lunch meal. After you have enjoyed your lunch, you will visit the famous Cairo Citadel which is home to the beautiful Mohamed Ali Alabaster Mosque. Visitors, including non-Muslims, are welcome to enter the Mohamed Ali Alabaster Mosque but be aware that female visitors need to cover their hair, neck and shoulders. This mosque is well and truly an architectural treasure which never fails to impress anyone who visits the site.
