7 Day Egypt Tour Itineraries

While our 7-Day Egypt tour packages vary from one to the next, most of our pre-packaged itineraries begin with a day of sightseeing in Cairo. These are typically private tours that include your own expert tour guide, driver, and a clean and modern air condition vehicle.

We meet you at the airport when you arrive in the country and then we transfer you to a good four or five star hotel. There are typically no sightseeing tours on the day you arrive. Instead, sightseeing begins the following day after you have enjoyed a good breakfast at your hotel.
Your guide and driver will fetch you from your hotel and then your tour will usually begin with a visit to the legendary Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx. Next, we take you to a good local restaurant for some lunch, a great opportunity to enjoy some mouthwatering Egyptian cuisine. After lunch, we head to the famous Egyptian Museum which is home to more than 200,000 ancient treasures, showcasing roughly 5,000 years of ancient history.

Finally, you get to spend some time exploring the meandering lanes and alleys of the Khan el Khalili Bazaar before being dropped off back at your hotel. Bear in mind that itineraries can vary from one to the next, so some might also include visiting other attractions in Cairo such as the old Cairo Citadel, the Alabaster Mosque and the famous Hanging Church of Cairo. Regardless of which itinerary you choose, you are guaranteed to have an amazing experience in Cairo.

Magical Nile River Cruises

Nearly all of the 7-Day Egypt tours that are currently listed on our site include a five-star Nile River cruise with full board and daily sightseeing excursions to several of Egypt’s most cherished and most renowned ancient sites. Remember, all of our 7-Day Egypt tour packages are fully customizable so if you want to spend even more time out on the water, you can always let us adjust your itinerary to include a Lake Nasser cruise after your Nile River cruise comes to an end. You could also opt for a Lake Nasser cruise instead of a Nile cruise. However, a Nile cruise offers more value in terms of incredible sightseeing because you get to see several of the best ancient monuments in Upper Egypt.

To make your Nile cruise more rewarding than ever, an experienced Egyptologist guide will accompany you to all the sites you visit during your cruise. At EgyptVacations.com, we only book our clients onto the very best Nile cruise ships. Expect spacious beautifully appointed cabins, three excellent meals each day, and a wide range of amenities, including and outdoor pool, massage and spa facilities, a beauty salon, and more.

Some cruises also include on board entertainment in the form of Egyptian belly dancing shows, folkloric shows, and in some cases, even lectures that provide a fantastic opportunity to learn about ancient Egyptian history. Whether your cruise departs from Aswan, or whether it departs from Luxor, it is going to include:

Edfu – Edfu Temple is located near the modern day town of Edfu. Also known as the Temple of Horus, this is the best preserved temple ever discovered in Egypt. The reason for its remarkable preservation is the fact that it became buried beneath the desert sand and remained that way for more than 2,000 years.

Luxor – As with Aswan, Luxor serves as a starting or finishing point for many Nile River cruises. The area is home to some of Egypt’s most cherished archaeological sites, all of which are located at Thebes near modern day Luxor. This was the ancient capital during the New Kingdom era. During your time in Luxor, you will typically visit five ancient attractions. On the east bank, you will visit Luxor Temple and Karnak Temple which was the largest temple ever built by the ancient Egyptians.

On the west bank, prepare to be blown away with a visit to the Colossi of Memnon, Hatshepsut Temple, and the Valley of Kings, an ancient royal burial ground that is home to more than 60 ancient tombs, including the tomb of King Tutankhamun.

Experience the magic of Jordan

While nearly all of our 7-Day Egypt tours Feature a five-star Nile river cruise, you could always substitute your cruise with an amazing trip into Jordan. With this option you would get to enjoy private guided tours to see the top attractions in Cairo and then the opportunity to visit some of the finest attractions in Jordan.

Jordan may not have the same or as many ancient monuments as Egypt, but it has many of its own unique treasures, including places like Jerash, the ruins of an ancient Roman city. The country is also home to the absolutely breathtaking Lost City of Petra, one of the most magnificent archaeological sites on the planet. And, of course, the Dead Sea is only a relatively short drive away from Amman, the country’s capital city, and for those who want to escape the crowds; a 4X4 trip to Wadi Rum is a perfect solution.
