Private Guided Sightseeing Tours in Cairo

Your second day in Egypt is going to be an amazing experience with a private guided tour to some of Cairo’s most popular tourist attractions:

Giza Pyramids and the Sphinx

The Giza Pyramids and the Sphinx are iconic landmarks located in Giza, Egypt. The Giza Pyramids, also known as the Great Pyramids, are three ancient structures built as tombs for pharaohs during the Old Kingdom period of ancient Egypt. These pyramids, including the Pyramid of Khufu, the Pyramid of Khafre, and the Pyramid of Menkaure, continue to amaze researchers and tourists alike with their massive size and impressive architecture.

Adjacent to the pyramids stands the Sphinx, a mythical creature with the body of a lion and the head of a human. The Sphinx is believed to have been built as a guardian for the pyramids and is an integral part of the Giza Plateau. Together, the Giza Pyramids and the Sphinx form a UNESCO World Heritage Site and serve as a captivating testament to the ingenuity and advanced engineering skills of the ancient Egyptians.

Add-ons

Visitors can actually enter all three of the Giza Pyramids but separate tickets are required in order to do so. These tickets are typically not included in our 10-day Egypt tour packages. However, we can include them in your chosen itinerary or you can purchase them yourself at the site when you visit.

To add an extra touch of authenticity to your Giza Pyramids tour, consider going for a camel ride. There are several camel ride options available. Some last for about 1 to 2 hours and include a short trip into the desert. However, if you only want to experience a short camel ride, there are also short rides from the pyramids to the Sphinx.

Museum of Egyptian Antiquities

The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities, also known as the Egyptian Museum, is a renowned museum located in central Cairo. It is home to a vast collection of artifacts and treasures from ancient Egypt, spanning thousands of years of history. The museum provides a unique opportunity to delve into the rich and fascinating culture of ancient Egypt, allowing visitors to gain a deeper understanding of this ancient civilization. It is a must-visit attraction for anyone interested in history and archaeology of ancient Egypt.

10-day Egypt itinerary

Khan el Khalili Bazaar

Khan el Khalili Bazaar is a historic marketplace located in a part of the city known as Islamic Cairo. It is one of the oldest and largest bazaars in the Middle East, dating back to the 14th century. The bazaar is known for its vibrant atmosphere, bustling crowds, and diverse array of shops and stalls. Visitors can explore a wide range of goods, including jewelry, textiles, spices, antiques, and traditional handicrafts. Khan el Khalili Bazaar is not only a popular tourist destination but also a significant cultural and historical landmark, offering a glimpse into the rich heritage of Egypt.

Cairo Citadel

Cairo Citadel, also known as the Citadel of Saladin, is a famous medieval fortress located in Cairo. Built during the 12th century, the citadel served as a strategic defense structure against potential attacks and invasions. It is an architectural marvel, showcasing stunning Islamic design and craftsmanship.

One of the main attractions within the citadel is the Mosque of Muhammad Ali, also known as the Alabaster Mosque, which offers breathtaking views of the city. The Cairo Citadel is not only a historical landmark but also a popular tourist destination.

This attraction is not included in all of our 10-day Egypt tours, but since all of our travel itineraries are customizable; we can always include a visit to this site in your preferred itinerary if it is not already included.

The Great Step Pyramid

The great step pyramid of pharaoh Djoser is located in an ancient royal necropolis at Saqqara. This was the very first pyramid ever built by the ancient Egyptians, and for centuries, it was the largest major stone structure ever built by mankind. The interior of the pyramid was closed to visitors for more than 14 years due to renovation and restoration, but today visitors can enter this ancient wonder once again.

Unlike with the Giza Pyramids, it is not necessary to buy a separate entry ticket if you wish to see inside the pyramid. A visit to the Step Pyramid at Saqqara Is not included in all of our 10-day Egypt tour packages, but we can, however, included in your chosen travel itinerary if it is not already included. This ancient royal necropolis is only a short drive away from Cairo and it is a place which we definitely recommend visiting.
