12-Hour Cairo Tour from Alexandria Port

At the departure time which will have been confirmed with you, your guide will meet you at your cruise exit gate, holding a sign with your name on it. Once the two of you have met and greeted each other, your guide will lead you to your private air conditioned vehicle and you will begin the drive to Cairo in absolute comfort. The journey from Alexandria Port to Cairo takes approximately 2.5 to 3 hours. If you would like to take a short break during the drive you can simply let your guide know.

Giza Pyramids and the Sphinx

Our Cairo tour from Alexandria Port begins at the Giza plateau where you will visit Egypt’s most iconic pyramids and the Sphinx. You will also visit the Valley temple while you are at the site. Visitors are able to enter all three of the Giza Pyramids. However, our 12 hour Cairo tour from Alexandria Port only includes the entrance fee for the main site. If you want to actually enter any of the pyramids during your visit, a separate ticket is required for each pyramid you want to enter.

Camel rides are also available at the site but this is not included in the cost of our tours from Alexandria Port to Cairo. If you really want to experience a camel ride at the Giza Pyramids, we would recommend that you opt for a short camel ride from the pyramids to the Sphinx.

Lunch Break at a Local Restaurant

After your tour at the famous pyramids, you will then make your way back to your vehicle, and then you will be taken to a good quality local restaurant for lunch. This is the perfect time for you to sample some delicious and authentic Egyptian food. Having been around since 1389, Khan el Khalili is one of the oldest marketplaces in the entire Middle East. It is also one of the largest markets, Famous for its many meandering lanes and alleys that are lined with vendors selling all manner of goods. Whether you want to shop for affordable handicrafts, exotic spices, or whether you just want to do some last-minute shopping for souvenirs this vibrant and charismatic market is definitely the place to be.

The market is also well known for its street food culture and its cafes where you can sit and enjoy some tea or coffee while you watch ordinary Egyptians going about their daily lives. In short, no day trip to Cairo is complete without a visit to Khan el Khalili, Egypt’s most famous market.
Departure time from Cairo to Alexandria Port will depend on what time your cruise ship is due to depart. If your cruise ship is still going to be docked at Alexandria Port for another day or more, then you will of course be able to spend a little bit more time at the market if you want to.
After you have finished at the bazaar, you will then return to your comfortable motor vehicle for the drive back to Alexandria Port. On arrival, your guide and driver will drop you off at your cruise entry/exit gate, and your Cairo tour from Alexandria Port will be over.
