Visit the top tourist attractions in Egypt’s bustling capital city and then board a five star Nile river cruise through the heart of Upper Egypt to see some of the country’s most cherished ancient sites, including places like Luxor Temple, Philae Temple, Hatshepsut Temple, Valley of the Kings, and more.

And, with a friendly and extremely knowledgeable guide by your side, you won’t only be sightseeing, you will also be learning a great deal about ancient Egyptian history. No matter which one of our 15-day Egypt tours you choose, you are guaranteed to have a truly amazing trip.

Private Guided Cairo Tours

All of our 15-day Egypt tour packages typically begin in Cairo. Your tour manager meets you at Cairo International Airport and then transfers you to the 4 or 5 star hotel where you will be staying during your time in Egypt’s lively capital. On the day you arrive in the country, there are no sightseeing tours. Instead, you are left to enjoy your first day in Egypt as you wish. On your second day in the country, your private tour guide and one of our drivers will fetch you from your hotel and the sightseeing will begin.

Cairo sightseeing tours can vary from one itinerary to the next, but all of the15 day Egypt tour packages currently listed on our site include a visit to the following attractions:

Giza Pyramids

The legendary Pyramids of Giza and the Great Sphinx feature in all of our pre-packaged 15-day Egypt tours. Visit the pyramid of Pharaoh Khufu, Pharaoh Khafre, Pharaoh Menkaura, the Sphinx and the Valley Temple, with the option of going for a short camel ride while you are at the site. Camel rides are optional and are not included in the cost of our 15-day Egypt tour packages.

Visitors can also enter all three of the Giza Pyramids but an additional ticket needs to be purchased for each pyramid you wish to enter. Tickets to enter the pyramids can be purchased at the main gate when you arrive at the site. All of the pyramids were looted in antiquity so don’t expect to see much inside any of them other than passageways, chambers, and plenty of stairs. Whether you enter any of the pyramids or not, you can be sure that a visit to the site is guaranteed to be a truly unforgettable experience.

Egyptian Museum

Also known as the Museum of Egyptian Antiquities, this world famous museum is home to tens of thousands of relics that showcase roughly 5,000 years of Egypt’s ancient history. While many of the relics that were once on display at the museum have now been moved to the new Grand Egyptian Museum at Giza, there is still so much to see at the Egyptian Museum in Cairo.

The Egyptian Museum features in nearly all of our 15-day Egypt tours. However, since all of our tours are fully customizable, if you would rather visit the new Grand Egyptian Museum at Giza, this can easily be arranged.

Khan el Khalili Bazaar

The Khan el Khalili Bazaar has been around since the late 14th century. It is one of the oldest and biggest bazaars in the entire Middle East. All of our pre-packaged 15-day Egypt tours include a visit to this charismatic marketplace where you will have some time to explore its many meandering lanes and alleys that are populated with vendors selling everything you can imagine. It’s a great opportunity to shop for souvenirs, textiles, clothes, or even exotic herbs and spices which may not be easily available in your own country.

Even if you don’t want to do any shopping, there are several cafes where you can sit and enjoy some refreshments while you watch ordinary Egyptians going about their daily lives. While the bazaar may not be ancient, it is one of the city’s most popular and most charming historical sites.

Saqqara Necropolis

The Saqqara necropolis is an ancient Royal burial ground located only a short drive from Cairo. It is best known for the Great Step Pyramid of pharaoh Djoser which is believed to be the first pyramid ever built by the ancient Egyptians.  It is also the world’s oldest major stone structure. Unlike the Giza Pyramids, visitors can enter the Step Pyramid without having to purchase an additional ticket.

Other Cairo Sightseeing

Depending on which 15-day Egypt itinerary you choose, you may also get to enjoy a second day of sightseeing in this vibrant city. Some of tour packages also include sightseeing in Coptic Cairo and Islamic Cairo. During these tours you will typically visit places like the Hanging Church of Cairo and the Cairo Citadel.

15-day Egypt itinerary

Breathtaking Five Star Nile River Cruises

All of our 15-day Egypt tours include a five-star Nile Cruise, either from Luxor to Aswan or from Aswan to Luxor. We only book our clients onto the very best Nile cruise ships. Expect spacious and beautifully appointed cabins, three excellent meals each day, and the sort of amenities that one would expect to find at any good hotel. Most of the Nile cruises that are featured on our site also include various forms of onboard entertainment such as Egyptian belly dancing shows and folkloric shows.

You can also expect daily sightseeing tours that words simply cannot describe. A professional Egyptologist guide will also accompany you to all the different sites that you will visit during your Nile cruise to tell you all about the ancient history of each monument you visit.

Regardless of which 15-day itinerary you choose, you can look forward to visiting some of the very finest ancient Egyptian monuments in Upper Egypt, including:

Luxor

When your cruise ship is docked in Luxor, your Egyptologist tour guide will accompany you on two tours: one on the east bank and one on the west bank. During your east bank tour, you will visit Luxor Temple and Karnak Temple. Luxor Temple is one of the best preserved ancient temples in Egypt. Karnak Temple, on the other hand, was the largest temple complex ever built by the ancient Egyptians. It was and still is the largest place of worship ever built by man.

During your west bank tour, you will visit three historical sites: the Colossi of Memnon, the mortuary temple of Queen Hatshepsut, and the Valley of Kings. Hatshepsut Temple and the Valley of Kings are among Egypt’s most visited ancient sites. Valley of the Kings is an ancient Royal burial ground that is home to more than 60 tombs, including the tomb of King Tutankhamun which was discovered and excavated by Howard Carter in the early 20th century.

Unlike nearly all of the other tombs in the valley, the tomb of King Tutankhamun was still sealed when it was discovered. While all of the contents of his tomb were relocated to the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, his mummy remains on display in his tomb in the Valley of Kings in Luxor.

Edfu

All Nile cruises that feature in our 15-day Egypt tours will include an onshore excursion at Edfu, where your Egyptologist guide will accompany you on a visit to the Temple of Horus, also known as Edfu Temple. This Temple was captured and occupied by the Romans who later abandoned it. Slowly but surely, the temple eventually became buried beneath the desert sand, and it remained that way for roughly 2,000 years. Thanks to this, it is today the best preserved ancient temple in Egypt.

Kom Ombo

During your cruise, your Nile cruise ship will stop at Kom Ombo, and your guide will accompany you on a visit to Kom Ombo Temple which is Egypt’s most unique ancient temple complex. Kom Ombo Temple is a twin temple complex consisting of two identical halves. One half was dedicated to Sobek the crocodile god, while the other half was dedicated to Horus the falcon-headed god.

Aswan

Whether your cruise departs from Aswan or ends in Aswan, you will visit three of the area’s top terrorist attractions: the Aswan High Dam, the Unfinished Obelisk, and the ancient Philae Temple. The Aswan High Dam may not be an ancient monument, but it is still a site which is definitely worth visiting, even if only to enjoy spectacular views of the Nile and Lake Nasser.

The Unfinished Obelisk would have been the largest obelisk ever made but the project was halted when a major crack appeared. For many people, Philae Temple is the biggest highlight of their Aswan tour. Your guide will tell you all about the rich history surrounding this ancient temple, including the fact that it was relocated in entirety to higher ground to save it from being lost to the rising waters of Lake Nasser when the High Dam was being constructed. Depending on which itinerary you choose, you may also visit Elephantine Island during your stay in Aswan.

Optional Tours and Activities

If you have a bit of an adventurous spirit, you may want to consider an early morning hot air balloon ride over the ancient temples and tombs of Luxor. Hot air balloon lines are not included in our 15-day Egypt tours unless requested.

A half day trip from Aswan to the magnificent Abu Simbel Temples is also highly recommended. A visit to these breathtaking rock-hewn temples is included in some but not all of our 15 day Egypt tour packages.

NOTE: Our 15 day Egypt tours include domestic flights from Cairo Airport to Aswan or Luxor, and back to Cairo.
