Sightseeing Egypt Holiday Packages from Australia
If you are spending a few days in Cairo, Egypt’s capital city, we would definitely recommend visiting Saqqara to see the first Egyptian pyramid ever built, the Step Pyramid of pharaoh Djoser.
Of course, there are so many other famous monuments in the country that really help to bring Egypt’s ancient history to life. Some prime examples would be the awe-inspiring Abu Simbel Temples; the vast Karnak Temple complex; Hatshepsut Temple, and the Valley of Kings.
The Valley of Kings is an ancient burial ground where pharaohs and nobles were entombed during the New Kingdom era. Today, it is one of Egypt’s most visited archaeological sites. It is also where visitors can see the tomb of King Tutankhamun, along with his mummy.
One of the most amazing things about Egypt is the fact that there are historical attractions and breathtaking archaeological sites located all over the country. However, many of the very best ones are located along the banks of the Nile River from Aswan to Luxor, and the best way to see and enjoy these is by way of a Nile cruise.
Luxury Nile Cruise Egypt Holidays from Australia
These are the most common and most popular Nile cruises. Providing you are booked onto one of the better cruise ships, you will be able to enjoy the same sort of amenities that you would at any good hotel. We, for example, only ever book our clients onto 5* Nile cruise ships, and they really are like floating hotels.
If you have booked your cruise through a good tour operator, one of their tour guides will sail with the vessel to give you guided tours at various famous monuments. Your cruise should also include admission to any and all historical attractions that you visit during your Nile cruise.
Combined Egypt Sightseeing and Beach Holidays
Our Cairo, Nile Cruise & Hurghada and our Cairo, Nile Cruise & Sharm El Sheikh holidays are immensely popular. It’s not really surprising because they allow visitors to really get the most out of their Egypt holidays from Australia.
With this type of Egypt itinerary, you get to see many of Egypt’s most famous attractions. From the ancient pyramids in and around Cairo, to the ancient temples, tombs and ruins between Luxor and Aswan, and then finally you get to enjoy a few days of leisure on Egypt’s Red Sea coast.
Places like Hurghada, Sharm El Sheikh and Marsa Alam are all excellent destinations for beach holidays and family holidays. They also attract plenty of snorkelers and SCUBA diving enthusiasts from around the world. In fact, Egypt’s Red Sea coast is home to some of the world’s best dive sites. There are literally hundreds of breathtaking coral reefs that are teaming with different forms of marine life.
While places like Sharm El Sheikh doesn’t really have much to offer in terms of famous monuments, there are a few interesting sites not too far away which can be visited as part of a day trip. After plenty of sightseeing in Cairo and during a Nile cruise, spending a few days on the Red Sea coast is a wonderful way to make your Egypt experience complete.
Dahabiya Nile Cruises
A Dahabiya is also a traditional sail boat but they are considerably bigger than a felucca. They are essentially river yachts with two large sails, one at the back and one at the front. Most of them will have around 8 to 12 cabins, although some might only have 5 or 6 cabins. Those that are used for Nile cruise purposes will have a dining area and a covered outdoor recreation area.
Some of the better ones will also have an open-air Jacuzzi, Wi-Fi access, and etc. In fact, some Dahabiyas are nothing short of luxurious.
Most Dahabiya operators will allow their vessels to sail providing that at least two cabins have been booked. This makes them a fantastic choice for families and/or small groups of friends, or anyone who wants to avoid the large crowds which are common on the bigger cruise ships. Unfortunately, Dahabiya Nile cruises tend to cost more than regular Nile cruise packages. With that having been said, nothing can compare to sailing silently along the River Nile on a Dahabiya. It is well and truly a magical experience.
Nile River Cruises
It is often said that there is no better way to experience the magic of Egypt’s ancient history, than to do so by way on a Nile River cruise. Providing you book a good quality Nile cruise from Luxor or Nile cruise from Aswan, you will get to see several of Egypt’s most famous monuments. People who want to experience a Nile cruise also have a few different cruise options available to them…
