DAY 1 – Arrive Cairo for Luxury Egypt Cruise Tour

Welcome to Egypt, Land of the Pharaohs, and one of the most fascinating countries in the world. When you arrive in Cairo, the lively capital of Egypt for your 13 Day Luxury Egypt Cruise package, one of our tour managers will meet you and then escort you to the hotel where you will be staying for the first three nights of your holiday.

There are no tours scheduled for your first day in Egypt, so once you have checked in, our tour manager will discuss your travel itinerary with you, and then the rest of the day is yours to enjoy as you wish.

Spend the rest of the day relaxing, or head out and explore your surroundings on your own. If you want to make your first night in Egypt extra special, why not treat yourself to a fantastic dinner cruise on the River Nile in Cairo?

DAY 2 – Visiting the Pyramids & Sakkara

On the 2nd day of your Luxury Egypt Cruise, starts with a delightful and wholesome Egyptian breakfast before your personal guide takes you to the Giza Plateau. Here, you’ll be amazed by the Great Pyramids of Giza, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Enjoy a stroll around the Plateau, taking in the impressive sights of the iconic Sphinx and the Valley Temple.

After exploring the pyramids, you’ll head to a traditional Egyptian restaurant for a delicious lunch. Then, continue your journey to the Sakkara district, where you’ll visit the Sakkara Complex and the Djoser Pyramid, the world’s first ever pyramid. Conclude your day with an overnight stay in Cairo.

DAY 3 – Visiting the Egyptian Museum and the GEM

After enjoying a fulfilling breakfast, your first destination will be the New Grand Egyptian Museum, also known as the Giza Museum, located just 2 kilometers (1.2 miles) from the Giza pyramid complex. Currently in a soft opening phase, the museum is offering limited access as part of a trial run for its official debut. During this phase, you can explore the Main Galleries, the Grand Hall, the Grand Staircase, commercial spaces, and the beautiful outdoor gardens.

Following the museum visit, you’ll indulge in a tasty lunch at a traditional Egyptian restaurant. Next, you’ll visit the Egyptian Museum, nestled in the heart of historic Downtown Cairo with views of the famous Tahrir Square. Here, you can marvel at the impressive collection of ancient Egyptian artifacts and treasures. Afterward, return to your hotel for a relaxing evening and an overnight stay in Cairo.

DAY 4 – Domestic Flight to Aswan and Oberoi Philae Embarkation

Your luxury trip on the Nile gets underway today, so check-out from the hotel will be shortly after breakfast, at which point you will travel to the airport to board a short flight to Aswan for your luxurious Nile cruise from Aswan to Luxor. When you land in Aswan, you will again be met by one of our tour managers, and then taken to board the luxurious Oberoi Philae which will be your luxury home on the river for the next 6 nights of your stay in Egypt.

Enjoy lunch on the cruiser and then you will have some free time for yourself. At around 16h00, you will leave the cruise ship and one of our Egyptologist guides will accompany you and a small group of our other clients on a motorboat trip to visit the Nubian Museum. After this visit, the boat will take you back to your cruise ship again, and a short while later there will be a Cocktail Reception with some entertainment, after which the crew will begin serving dinner. This night of your trip along the Nile will be spent in your cabin on the river at Aswan.

DAY 5 – Kom Ombo Temple and Aswan Tour

The Oberoi Philae will depart from Aswan at about 06h00 and you will have your breakfast on the Nile while you cruise to Kom Ombo where you will be taken to see the Kom Ombo Temple, an ancient Egyptian twin-temple complex. After your tour, your boat will cruise back to Aswan, and at about 14h00 your guide will take you and the other members of your group to see the remarkable Aswan High Dam and the ancient Temple of Philae.

Return to the ship after your tour and enjoy another Cocktail Reception before sitting down to another good on-board dinner. This night of your cruise will also be spent on the river at Aswan.

DAY 6 – Temple of Horus and Overnight at Esna

Your cruise ship will leave Aswan at 07h00 today and it will cruise to Edfu, so you will have ample to for relaxing and admiring the view as the river slides by. At 14h00, you will once again leave the vessel, and your guide will take you to see the Temple of Horus which is the best-preserved ancient Egyptian temple ever discovered in Egypt. After this tour, the ship will sail to Esna where you will be spending this night of your luxury cruise on the Nile.

DAY 7 – Luxor East Bank Tour

Enjoy another relaxing morning on the ship while you cruise to Luxor. Breakfast and lunch will be served at the usual times, and then at 14h00 you will enjoy another guided tour. During this time to visit the sprawling ruins of the vast Karnak Temple complex, and also the Luxor museum, both of which are located on the East Bank of the Nile at Luxor. After you are finished at the museuem, you will return to the cruise ship in time for another good dinner, and a relaxing night on the Nile at Luxor.

DAY 8 – Luxor West Bank Tour and Temple of Dendara

Your luxury Egypt cruise tour gets off to an early start today; leaving the ship with your guide at around 07h00 for a tour on the West Bank of the Nile. During this tour you will be taken to see some of Egypt’s most cherished ancient sites, including Valley of the Kings; the Temple of Medinet Habu; the mortuary temple of Queen Hatshepsut, and the Colossi of Memnon.

The Valley of Kings served as a royal burial ground during the New Kingdom period and is home to more than 60 ancient tombs. It is one of the most visited ancient sites in Egypt

Soon after arriving back on the cruise ship, lunch will be served out on the river while you cruise along the Nile to Qena. At 18h00 you will be taken for another excursion, this time to visit the ancient Temple of Dendara which was dedicated to Hathor, Goddess of Music, Love and Joy. This tour typically lasts for about an hour and a half, so today dinner will be served slightly later than usual and you will spend this night of your luxury Nile adventure on the river at Qena.

DAY 9 – Temple of Abydos and Luxor Temple

After breakfast, your guide will take you and the other members of your group to see the ancient Temple of Dendara, and then at 12h00 the cruise ship will depart and it will then cruise back to Luxor, with lunch served along the way. After lunch, you will have most of the afternoon to yourself, and then at 17h00 you will enjoy another excursion in Luxor, this time to the beautiful Luxor Temple which is located on the East Bank of the Nile. Enjoy another good dinner on the cruise ship, and enjoy the last night of your cruise on the Nile at Luxor.

DAY 10 – Cruise Disembarkation and Transfer to Sahl Hashish

Your luxurious trip on the Nile has now come to an end. Disembarkation from your cruise will happen shortly after you have had your breakfast, and then you travel to Sahl Hashish where you will check-in at a fabulous 5-Star resort. The drive from Luxor takes about 3 hours. Sahl Hashish is about a 30 minute drive from the center of Hurghada on Egypt’s Red Sea coast, so Hurghada is close enough if you want to do some serious shopping or partying, but it is also far away enough to ensure that you can enjoy peace and quiet.

DAY 11 and DAY 12 – Leisure Time with Optional Tours

There are no tours or excursions scheduled for these two days of your Luxury Egypt Cruise. Instead, they are free/open days which you can enjoy as you wish, although there are lots of optional tours and activities available in the area if you would rather not spend these two days relaxing.

This area enjoys a very pleasant Mediterranean climate.  Hurghada is a very popular destination for affordable beach holidays and is also famous for its magnificent snorkeling and SCUBA diving sites. There is also a very nice national park nearby. Please feel free to discuss optional tours and/or activities with you tour guide or when you book your 13 Day Egypt Luxury Tour.

DAY 13 – Flight to Cairo and Final Departure

Unfortunately, your travel adventure in Egypt has come to an end. After checking out from your 5-Star retreat, we will drive you to the airport in Hurghada where you will board a domestic flight back to Cairo. When you land in Cairo, your tour manager will meet you and then escort you to the international departures hall in time for you to board your flight out of Egypt.
