Cairo 2 Day Tours From Port Said

Day 1 – Egypt Pyramids Tour

On the day that you r Cairo 2-day tour from Port Said begins, your tour guide will be waiting for you at your cruise exit gate with a sign displaying your name. Once you have greeted each other, your guide will lead you to your private air conditioned vehicle, and then you will begin the drive to Cairo. The journey from Port Said to Cairo takes approximately 3 hours.
On arrival in Cairo, your first stop will be at the Giza plateau where you will visit the iconic Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx. You will also have access to the Valley Temple while you are at the site. These are among the world’s most famous historical sites and your private tour guide will be right next to you to tell you all about the rich history of these breathtaking ancient monuments.
Optional Activities – If you are feeling a bit adventurous, you can actually enter all three of the pyramids. However, entry to the pyramids is not included in the cost of our Cairo 2 day tours from Port Said. If you wish to enter and explore the interior of any of the pyramids, an additional ticket is required for each of the pyramids you want to enter.
You can also enjoy a camel ride at the site but this is also an optional activity. Not everyone wants to go for a camel ride so we do not include this in the cost of our shore excursions to the pyramids.
After you have finished exploring the Giza Pyramids site, you will then be taken to a good local restaurant where you will be able to enjoy a delicious and authentic Egyptian lunch. Once you have finished eating, you will then drive to the ancient Saqqara necropolis, an ancient royal burial ground which is home to the great Step Pyramid of Pharaoh Djoser. This is the oldest of all the Egyptian pyramids and it’s also the world’s oldest major stone structure.
Following your visit to the Step Pyramid, you will then drive back to Cairo and you will be taken to a good five star hotel where you will be spending the night.
Optional activities – Once you have checked in at your hotel you can either spend the remainder of the day as you wish, or you can enjoy one or more optional activities. Our top recommendations would be a Nile River dinner cruise or a fabulous Sound and Lights show at the Giza Pyramids. Nile River dinner cruises which typically also include some onboard entertainment such as an Egyptian belly dancing show have all the right ingredients to guarantee a fantastic experience.

Day 2 – Egyptian Museum, Saladin Citadel and Return to Port Said

On the second day of our Cairo 2 day tours from Port Said, your tour guide will meet you at the confirmed time and you will check-out from your hotel. Your second private day tour will begin with a visit to the world famous Egyptian Museum which is home to an extensive collection of genuine artifacts that showcase 5,000 years of Egyptian history, beginning with the time of the ancient pharaohs.
This museum is home to the world’s largest collection of ancient Egyptian artifacts which also include some colossal statues, making it an absolute must-visit attraction for anyone who has an interest in ancient Egyptian history, and your knowledgeable guide will make sure that your visit to the museum is more rewarding than ever.
Following your visit to the museum, you will then be taken to a good local restaurant for some lunch. Enjoy your lunch meal, and then proceed to the Salah el Din Citadel, also known as the Cairo Citadel. The Citadel, which is one of the city’s best known historical sites, was originally constructed to serve as a fortress to protect the city against possible invasions. While you are here, you will visit the beautiful Mohammed Ali Alabaster Mosque. You will be able to enter this spectacular mosque, but it is worth noting that females are required to cover their hair, neck and shoulders when entering any mosque.
After your visit to the Citadel and the mosque, you will then make your way to Islamic Cairo where you will visit Cairo’s beloved Khan el Khalili Bazaar. Khan el Khalili is one of the biggest and oldest markets in the entire Middle East. Not only is it one of Cairo’s most iconic landmarks, but it is also a great place to do some last minute shopping for souvenirs or simply to enjoy watching ordinary Egyptians going about their daily lives. This is the last stop of your Cairo tour, so once you are finished at the market, you will then be driven back to Port Said in air conditioned comfort.
