DAY 2 – Cairo Sightseeing and Giza Pyramids Tour

Today begins in earnest shortly after breakfast when your personal guide and driver will arrive at your hotel to take you on an amazing tour in Cairo. The first stop of your tour will be at the famous Giza Pyramids where you will also be able to admire the Sphinx and the Valley Temple. This part of your tour will last until around lunchtime, at which point you will be taken for lunch at a good local restaurant.

Enjoy a leisurely lunch, and then you will move on to the Egyptian Museum and its remarkable Treasures Room that houses all the amazing artifacts that were recovered from the tomb of King Tutankhamen in the 1920s.

Your last stop for the day will be at the not-to-be-missed Khan el Khalili Bazaar where you will have some time to do a bit of shopping or some people watching. Dating back to the 14th century, this is one of the oldest bazaars in the Middle East, and certainly one of the most charismatic. After spending some time at the bazaar, you will be transferred back to your hotel.

Meals Included: Breakfast and Lunch

DAY 3 – Cruise Embarkation and Luxor East Bank Tour

Today, your Egypt and Jordan tour will see you leaving Cairo shortly after you have had breakfast at your hotel. You will be picked up at the confirmed time and then taken to the airport in Cairo where you will then board a short flight to Luxor.

On arrival at Luxor Airport, another one of our tour representatives will meet you, and you will immediately be taken to board your 5-Star Nile River cruise ship. Enjoy a good lunch aboard the vessel shortly after embarkation, and then one of our English speaking Egyptologist tour tours will accompany you and a small group of our other clients on a tour to the East Bank.

During your tour, you will visit one of Egypt’s most visited ancient sites, the Karnak Temple complex. Covering an area of more than 5,000 square meters, this represents the largest place of worship ever built. Next, you will move on to see Luxor Temple, another ancient Egyptian temple, but one which is surprisingly well-preserved.

Finally, after a fascinating tour on the East Bank, you will return to the cruise ship; you will have some free time for yourself, and then dinner will be served. This night of your trip will be spent in your cabin on the water at Luxor.

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

DAY 4 – Luxor West Bank Tour and Cruise to Edfu

The 4th day of your Egypt and Jordan tour is going to be another incredible day which begins shortly after you have had your breakfast. Once all members of your small group have finished eating, your guide/tour leader will accompany you on a West Bank tour. During this tour, you will visit Valley of the Kings; the mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, and the Colossi of Memnon.

Valley of the Kings is an ancient royal burial ground where Egyptian Pharaohs of the New Kingdom were buried in tombs, including King Tutankhamen. Hatshepsut Temple on the other hand, is a massive temple complex that clearly demonstrates the sort of wealth and power Egypt’s only female pharaoh must have had during her reign in the 15th century BC.

Following your tour, you will make your way back to the cruise ship, and it will travel to Edfu where you will spend this night of your trip on the water.

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner

DAY 5 – Cruise to Aswan with Tours at Edfu and Kom Ombo

Enjoy breakfast on the water while you travel to Edfu, where you will then disembark for a visit to Horus Temple, the best preserved ancient Egyptian temple ever discovered. After your tour, you will return to the ship, and then it will travel to Kom Ombo where you will enjoy another tour, this time to see a very unique ancient temple complex which was dedicated to two different gods simultaneously, Haeroris the falcon-headed god, and Sobek the crocodile god.

Return to the vessel after your tour, and it will then set sail for Aswan, with lunch and dinner being served aboard at the usual times. Tonight you will be sleeping on the water at Aswan.

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner

DAY 6 – Aswan Sightseeing Tour

Enjoy breakfast on the ship, and then you and your group will be taken for a tour in Aswan during which you will visit another three fascinating sites: the Aswan High Dam; the Unfinished Obelisk, and the incredibly impressive ancient Temple of Philae which was dedicated to two goddesses, Isis and Hathor.

There are no other tours today, so once your morning tour in Aswan ends, you will have the remainder of the day for yourself. Lunch and dinner will be served at the regular times, and the last night of your trip will be spent on the water at Aswan.

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner

DAY 7 – Cruise Disembarkation and Return to Cairo

Enjoy one last breakfast on the ship, and then you will disembark, and one of our tour representatives will escort you to the airport where you will board a short flight back to Cairo. When you land in Cairo, your tour manager will once again be there to meet you, and to transfer you to the hotel where you will be spending your last night in Egypt. There are no tours scheduled for today, so you will have the remainder of the day to enjoy as you wish.

Meals Included: Breakfast

DAY 8 – Flight from Cairo to Amman, Jordan

The next phase of your Egypt and Jordan Tour begins today, so at the appropriate time, you will check-out from the hotel. Your tour manager will meet you and escort you to the airport in time for you to board your flight from Egypt to Amman in Jordan.

When you land in Amman, another one of our tour representatives from Jordan will meet you and drive you to the hotel where you will be staying for the remaining days of your tour in Jordan. As was the case when you arrived in Cairo, our tour representative will assist with check-in; he will discuss your Jordan travel itinerary with you, and he will confirm pick-up times for your upcoming tours. After this has been taken care, you will be left to enjoy your first day in Jordan as you wish.

Meals Included: Breakfast

DAY 9 – Jerash, Ajloun and Umm Qais Tour

Shortly after breakfast, you will be met at your hotel, and then you will travel to Umm Qais, the ruins of an ancient town which was once called Gadara. Not only are the ruins very impressive, but you will also be able to enjoy spectacular views of Northern Jordan Valley; the Sea of Galilee, and the Golan Heights.

Next, you will travel to Jerash which is located on the slopes of the Mountain of Gilead. Here you will be able to see and explore the remains of an ancient Roman city. However, the ruins you see here are considerably well-preserved, the best preserved example of old Roman architecture outside of Italy.

Your next stop will be at the famous Ajloun Fortress which was built during the 12th century. This is an exceptionally well-preserved site, and is considered one of the most important tourist attractions in Jordan. Not only is this a magnificent place to visit, but the drive from Jerash to the fortress is absolutely breathtaking.

Finally, after spending some time at Ajloun Fortress, you will travel back to your hotel in central Amman.

Meals Included: Breakfast and Lunch

DAY 10 – Sightseeing Tour and Dead Sea Experience

The 10th day of your Egypt and Jordan tour is going to be another very memorable day, and it begins shortly after you have had your breakfast. The first stop of your tour today will be at Mount Nebo where the Prophet Moses is said to have gazed down on the Promised Land. From here, you will visit an old nearby monastery where you will be able to enjoy spectacular views of the Jordan Valley; the Dead Sea; Jericho, and Jerusalem.

Next, you will travel to St. Georges Church at Madaba to see an incredible 6th century mosaic map of the Palestine, and then you will continue on to the Dead Sea where you will have some wonderful time for relaxing. The Dead Sea is of course famous for its mineral-rich mud, and also because you can quite literally float on the water because of the incredibly high salt content.

Enjoy a leisurely afternoon at the Dead Sea, which is also the lowest point on earth, and then as evening time approaches, you will travel back to your hotel in Amman.

Meals Included: Breakfast and Lunch

DAY 11 – Lost City of Petra Tour

With our Egypt and Jordan tour package, we have kept one of the best attractions for last. Enjoy your breakfast, and then a pleasant 2.5-hour trip to Petra, also known as the Rose City of Petra. Here you will find an entire ancient city which has been carved out of the walls of a deep and often quite narrow, 1,200-meter-long gorge.

It would be pointless trying to describe Petra because no amount of words could ever really describe the absolute magic and splendor of this ancient 6th century BC Nabatean city.

The entrance to the gorge is roughly 700m from the visitor center and car park, and the gorge itself is about 1,200 meters, so it is highly recommended that visitors wear comfortable footwear for the walk. Your tour of Petra will last for about 3 hours, and then you will travel back to your hotel in Amman for your last night in Jordan.

Meals Included: Breakfast and Lunch

DAY 12 – Egypt and Jordan Tour Ends and Final Departure

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel as usual, and then at the appropriate time, our tour representative will meet you; he will assist with check-out, and then escort you to the airport in time for your flight out of Jordan. Your magical 12-day Egypt and Jordan tour is now over, so we will have to bid you farewell, and wish you a safe and pleasant onward journey.
