DAY 1 – Arrive Cairo for your 11 Day Cairo, Abu Simbel and Petra Jordan Tour Adventure

Your tour manager and one of our drivers meet you at the airport in Cairo when you arrive, and then transfer you in one of our clean and modern air-conditioned vehicles to the hotel where you will be staying while you are in Cairo. Your tour manager will assist with check-in and then confirm a pick-up time for the following day’s tours. After this, you will be left on your own to enjoy your first day in Egypt as you wish.

DAY 2 – Pyramids and the GEM

Begin your day with a delightful and hearty breakfast at your hotel. From there, your personal guide will escort you to the Giza Plateau, where your journey begins with a visit to the Great Pyramids of Giza, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. You’ll also explore the iconic Sphinx and the Valley Temple. Following your pyramid adventure, enjoy a delicious lunch at a traditional Egyptian restaurant. Next, visit the New Grand Egyptian Museum, also known as the Giza Museum, located just 2 kilometers (1.2 miles) from the Giza pyramid complex. This archaeological museum is currently offering limited access as part of a phased opening, allowing visitors to explore the Main Galleries, Grand Hall, Grand Staircase, commercial areas, and exterior gardens.

Finally, your tour guide and driver will return you to your hotel where you will once again be staying for this night of your Cairo, Abu Simbel and Petra Jordan Tour.

DAY 3 – Transfer to Aswan and Aswan Tour

Begin your day with an early transfer to Cairo Airport for your flight to Aswan. Upon arrival, a Memphis Tours representative will greet you and assist with your onward journey. Your first stop will be the magnificent Philae Temple, dedicated to the goddesses Isis and Hathor. Next, you will visit the imposing Unfinished Obelisk, lying in the ancient stone quarries where it was carved thousands of years ago. After your tour, return to your hotel for an overnight stay in Aswan.

DAY 4 – Group Tour to Abu Simbel and Cruise Embarkation

Today you will join a group of other travelers, and a clean and modern air-conditioned coach will take you to Abu Simbel to see the absolutely magnificent rock-cut temples of Pharaoh Ramses II and his beloved wife, Queen Nefertari. Many people, both locals and tourists alike, consider this site to be the best of all Egypt’s ancient sites, and true masterpieces of Ancient Egypt.
While these temples were devoted to different gods, they were also to serve as lasting monuments of his legacy.

Following your trip to the temples, you will then travel back to Aswan, and you will be taken to board your 5-Star Nile River cruise in time for a good lunch aboard the ship. There are no other tours or excursions scheduled for this day, so you will have the rest of the day for yourself to enjoy as you wish. This night of your Cairo, Abu Simbel and Petra Jordan Tour will be spent in your cabin on the water at Aswan.

DAY 5 – Cruise to Esna with Kom Ombo and Edfu Excursions

Breakfast will be served aboard the cruise ship in the morning, and then it will travel to Kom Ombo where you and a small group of our other clients will be taken to see the ancient twin temples of Kom Ombo. One of our Egyptologist tour guides will be with you as usual to tell you all about the site’s history and to answer questions. After your tour, you will return to the ship in time for lunch, and the ship will then sail to Edfu where you will enjoy another guided tour, this time to the Temple of Horus which is the best-preserved ancient cult temple ever discovered in Egypt.

Finally, your cruise ship will start sailing to Esna where you will be spending this night of your trip along the Nile.

DAY 6 – Cruise to Luxor and Luxor West Bank Tour

Your cruise ship will depart from Esna quite early and it will begin sailing to Luxor, with breakfast being served along the way. When it docks in Luxor a bit later in the morning, your tour guide will take you and the other members of your group for a tour on the West Bank. During this tour you will visit Valley of the Kings; Queen Hatshepsut Temple, and the Colossi of Memnon.

Valley of the Kings is an ancient royal burial ground where several pharaohs of the New Kingdom were entombed, including Ramses VI and King Tutankhamen. Hatshepsut Temple is a massive temple that served as a mortuary temple for Queen Hatshepsut, ancient Egypt’s only true Egyptian female ruler.

After your West Bank Tour, you will return to the ship in time for lunch, and then you will have the remainder of the day to yourself. This night of your Cairo, Abu Simbel and Petra Jordan Tour will be spent on the water at Luxor.

DAY 7 –Luxor East Bank Tour and Return to Cairo

Enjoy breakfast on the cruise ship, and then it will be time for you to disembark, after which you will be taken for a tour on the East Bank to see Luxor Temple and the ruins of the vast Karnak Temple complex. Karnak Temple complex is the second-most visited ancient attraction in Egypt. After your tour, you will then be driven to the airport to board a flight back to Cairo.

When you get to Cairo, you will again be met by one of our tour managers and a driver, and you will be transferred to the hotel where you will be staying for your last night in Egypt.

DAY 8 – Transfer to Amman in Jordan

Your Cairo, Abu Simbel and Petra Jordan Tour enters the next phase today, so at the appropriate time, your tour manager and driver will collect you from your hotel and transfer you to the airport in time for you to board your flight to Amman in Jordan. When land in Amman, you will again be met at the airport and then driven to the hotel where you will be staying for the remainder of your stay in Jordan.

Once you have checked in and a pick up time for the following day has been confirmed, you will then have the remainder of the day to yourself.

DAY 9 – Jerash and Dead Sea Tour

Today a driver and an English speaking assistant driver will pick you up at the confirmed time, and then you will travel to the foothills of Mt. Gilead to see the ancient Roman city of Jerash. The site is considered to be the finest examples of ancient Roman architecture outside of Italy, and the city’s past splendor can still be seen in the colonnaded street; the Oval Plaza; the Nymphaeum, and the Temple of Artemis. When you reach this site, you will also meet up with a specialist tour guide who will accompany you on your tour.

Next, you will travel to the Dead Sea which is famous for it extremely salty water. The water is so saturated with salts and minerals, that no forms of life can survive in the water, hence the reason why the vast lake was called the Dead Sea. Every year, millions of people flock to the Dead Sea to experience floating effortlessly on the water, and to take advantage of its mineral rich mud which is today found in many upmarket skin care products.

Enjoy your afternoon at the Dead Sea as you wish, and then in the late afternoon you will travel back to your hotel in Amman.

DAY 10 – Petra and 4X4 Desert Excursion

Today is undoubtedly going to be one of the biggest highlights of your Cairo, Abu Simbel and Petra Jordan Tour package. After breakfast, your driver will fetch you and then drive you to Lost City of Petra, also known by other names, include the Rose City of Petra and the Rose Red City of Petra. On arrival at the visitor center, you will meet up with a specialist English speaking tour guide, and then you will head to the Siq which is the entrance to a long deep rock gorge with cliffs towering 80 meters above you on either side.

The Nabatean Arabs carved their city out of the rock cliffs during the 6th-century BC, and no amount of words can truly describe the magnificence of what has now been classified as one of the New World Wonders.

After your tour of Petra, you will then be taken for a 4X4 desert safari at a desert area known as Wadi Rum. Wadi Rum was made famous by the movie Lawrence of Arabia, and today it is one of Jordan’s premier attractions. Following your Wadi Rum tour, you will then travel back to your hotel for the last night of your Cairo, Abu Simbel and Petra Jordan Tour package.

DAY 11 – 11 Day Cairo and Abu Simbel Travel Adventure Ends

Sadly, your Cairo, Abu Simbel and Petra Jordan Tour has come to an end, but with all you will have seen and done, lifelong memories are guaranteed. At the appropriate time, your driver will fetch you from your hotel, and then you will be driven to the airport in time for you to board your flight out of Jordan.
