Day 1: Hello Cairo

When you arrive at Cairo International Airport, your tour manager will be standing by to meet you. Once you have cleared immigration you will then be transferred to the five-star hotel where you will be spending the next four nights. On arrival at your hotel, your tour manager will assist you with check-in and then go over your itinerary with you, and also confirm pick up times for your upcoming tours. After this you will be left to enjoy the remainder of the day as you wish.

There are no sightseeing tours scheduled for your first day but if you don’t want to spend the rest of the day in your hotel, then we can recommend visiting Cairo Tower for a bird’s eye view of Egypt’s bustling capital city. Nile River dinner cruises are also highly recommended.

Day 2: Giza Pyramids and the Great Step Pyramid

Your guide and driver will collect you from your hotel at the confirmed time, and then you will make your way to the Giza plateau to see Egypt’s famous pyramids and the Great Sphinx. While you are at this site you will also be able to enjoy a short camel ride but this is optional and it is not included in the cost of our 5-day tour of Cairo package.
Once you are finished at the pyramids, you will then be taken to a good quality local restaurant to enjoy some delicious food. After you have enjoyed your lunch, you will then drive to Saqqara to see the Great Step Pyramid of Pharaoh Djozer. This was the very first pyramid ever built by the ancient Egyptians. When you have finished exploring this site with your expert guide, you will then be driven back to your hotel in Cairo and you will have the rest of the day to yourself.

Day 3: Egyptian Museum and Khan Al Khalili

Enjoy another delicious breakfast at your hotel and then your guide and driver will collect you at the confirmed time, and then you will start the day’s sightseeing with a visit to the famous Egyptian Museum which is located across the road from Tahrir Square in central Cairo. This incredible museum is home to roughly 200,000 artifacts that showcase 5,000 years of Egyptian history.

Once you are finished at the museum you will then once again be taken to a good quality Egyptian restaurant for lunch. After you have eaten you will make your way to a part of the city known as Coptic Cairo to see some Coptic churches, including the famous Hanging Church of Cairo.

Next, you will make your way to Islamic Cairo where you will have some time to explore the city’s famous Khan el Khalili Bazaar. This is one of the oldest and biggest bazaars in the entire Middle East and it is an excellent place to shop for souvenirs. Even if you don’t want to do any shopping, exploring the bazaar’s many meandering lanes and alleys is a wonderful experience during which you will also have the opportunity to sample some tasty food. After you have finished at the bazaar you will then be driven back to your hotel and you’ll have the rest of the day for yourself.

Day 4: Optional Day Trip to Alexandria

There are no scheduled tours on the 4th day of your Cairo tour but you will have the option of enjoying a day trip to Alexandria, Egypt’s second largest city. If you opt in for this optional Alexandria tour package, you will visit a number of Alexandria’s top tourist attractions, including the Qaitbay Citadel, the renowned Alexandria Library, and the Catacombs, a Roman cemetery intricately carved into the rock. After your tour we will then be driven back to Cairo where you will be dropped off at your hotel.

Day 5: Cairo Tour Ends

Enjoy another delicious breakfast at your hotel and then at the appropriate time your tour manager will meet you at your hotel, assist you with check out and then accompany you to Cairo Airport in time for you to board your flight out of Egypt. Your 5-day tour of Cairo has now come to an end.
